and experiences in finding the extraordinary
in your intimate surroundings.
Quoted from _____________________
I have been an artist for nearly all of my fifty-seven years, and an art teacher for thirty-seven of them. From my earliest days in Dublin, Virginia, my family encouraged me to do art, so long as it wasn't on the walls or doors. I earned a college degree in Art Education, and for the next twenty-eight years, I taught art in public schools in Virginia and North Carolina. During that time, the demands of teaching and raising my children reduced most of my artistic endeavors to prom decorations, bulletin board displays, and classroom demonstrations.
In 1998, I retired from the public schools and began a second career when I purchased Serendipity Art School in Greensboro, NC. Now I split my time between teaching classes at Serendipity for adults and children and working on my own art projects. I love being able to create the art I like, break all the “rules,” and strive to exceed even my own expectations.
